on february 1, 1979, the ayatollah khomeini returned to iran after 15 years in exile.

in march, the kentucky fried chicken location near the junior high school was bought out by popeye’s, and joe wilson was out of a job and went on unemployment.

joe was told that he could find assistance at the local library in preparing a resume with which to apply for a new job. he had not been in a library since he was a child, and on his visit he discovered a large selection of books on ufo’s, pyramids, ancient mysteries, ancient civilizations, and such, and he began spending time in the library reading them.

jenny wilson was now employed at wal-mart’s, which had replaced the woolworth’s in town. the wal-mart was larger and open longer hours, and the employees like jenny had staggered schedules instead of the old nine-to-five.

johnny wilson continued to struggle in school, especially in mathematics. jenny told him to keep at it, and to pray. she told him she would have been happy to help him with his homework, but she had always been hopeless at math herself.

on september 1, a los angeles court ordered the actor clayton moore to stop making public appearances as the lone ranger. moore had portrayed the lone ranger on television and in a couple of movies in the 40’s and 50’s.
